Alexandra Ward

Royal Navy

Born and raised on the North Yorkshire coast, Alex enjoyed the sciences and music at school, as well as spending time in and on the water. Continuing with technical subjects at A Level, she went on to study Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University before joining the Royal Navy after graduation. On completion of training as an Air Engineering Officer, she was assigned to 814 Naval Air Squadron at RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall, and then to NavyX. Following two shore-based posts, she is currently a member of HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH ship’s company. 

Having settled at the edge of Mounts Bay during her time at RNAS Culdrose, Alex continues to spend time outdoors as a member of the local sailing club and keen (albeit not very good) triathlete and runner.
