Heidi Heseltine specialises in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for the global maritime sector. With over 30 years experience in the maritime and shipping industry, gained in commercial, operational and leadership roles, Heidi founded the Diversity Study Group in 2018 to support the industry’s need to better retain and attract talent. This is addressed through industry benchmarking, collaboration and DEI advisory and consulting services in maritime, for those ashore and at sea.
Heidi has led the Diversity Study Group in supporting critical industry initiatives such as the All Aboard Alliance of which Diversity Study Group is a Founding Knowledge Partner and is an active supporter of many of the maritime industry’s seafarer charities. She also contributes as advisor and judge to a variety of prestigious industry DEI initiatives, and was honoured to win Seatrade Maritime’s Diversity in Maritime 2023 Award.

Ben has specialised in maritime and energy recruitment since the year 2000, from a Trainee Recruitment Consultant through to shareholding Managing Director with a major maritime, energy and oil and gas recruiter. Ben has a wealth of experience in all areas of maritime recruitment, and a strong belief in consultative and long-term relationship orientated solutions.
One of few people in the industry who holds a broad understanding of all of the disciplines within maritime and energy business’; Ben has been able to establish global recruitment partnerships which have streamlined companywide talent acquisition for multi-national organisations and start-ups alike.
Ben’s expertise encompasses delivery of executive search consultancy through to project management of multi-vacancy campaigns with companies including marine consultancies, classification societies, oil majors and ship owners, operators and managers.
