Neil Kapoor is a Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Student at UCL, currently in his fourth and final year of an integrated masters degree. As part of his 3rd year undergraduate project, he undertook research in the use of a micro nuclear reactor in generating electrofuels in a marine environment. Alongside engineering, Neil is also interested in geopolitics and defence, and has attended work experiences at companies such as Leonardo and Deutsche Bank. He is currently enrolled in the DSUS (Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship) Scheme and as part of this, has also attended a summer internship
Lecturer in Ship Design, UCL
I completed the MEng in Naval Architecture and MarineEngineering at University College London in 2001 and then joined the UCL Design Research Centre asa research student investigating the application of the Design Building Blockapproach to innovative ship design. Gaining my PhD in 2007, I have continued myresearch both in the Marine Research Group and via a secondment in industry. I am the recipientof the 2008 RINA Samuel Baxter Prize, 2009 RINA WHC Nicholas Prize, and 2012COMPIT GL Award for papers describing my research.
