Massimo Caccia, Director of research, graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1991, was Director of CNR-ISSIA in the period 2013-2017. His research activity, certified by more than 200 publications in international journals and conferences, is in the field of marine robotics, with particular interest in cooperative modeling and identification, navigation, guidance and control for unmanned underwater and surface marine vehicles . He is currently PI of the CNR unit in the Horizon Europe Twinning project MONUSEN. He was the coordinator of the Interreg Maritime-Italy MATRAC-ACP project, PON ARS01_00682 ARES Autonomous Robotics for the Extended Ship, and EC EMFF-BlueEconomy-2018 Blue RoSES project. He was a member of the steering committee and / or CNR PI in the following European projects: FP7-SST MINOAS, FP7-SME CART, FP7-ICT MORPH, FP7-ICT CADDY, H2020-TWINNING EXCELLABUST. He was Chair of the 9th IFAC Conference on Manoeuvring and Control of Marine Craft 2012, and Exhibit Chair of the Oceans'15 MTS / IEEE Conference 2015. He is member of the Board of Directors of MareFVG cluster.
