Simon Jinks has been on the MCA code working committees for the last few years. He is the Director at SeaRegs Training which is a maritime training provider teaching 2500 seafarers a year in short courses and apprenticeships. Specialisation in sub 500 GT vessel sector of workboats and small commercial/passenger vessels in ports and limited distances to sea. He has consulted with IfATE to develop apprenticeships, worked with MCA to develop courses and codes, worked on ISO equipment standards for maritime safety equipment. Vessel master, boat operator, trainer and auditor. Presently developing Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) training on electric twin screw vessel. Simon has 40 years’ experience in the sector.
