About the Speaker
Lamin Jawara is currently the Director of Ship Registry of the Gambia. He previously held several appointments at the Gambia Ports Authority as General Manager of the Gambia Ferry Services and Director of Technical Services, among others. He also held appointments at the NYC Ferry in Brooklyn, New York, United States of America as Project Manager and Engineering Fleet Supervisor.
A marine engineer and a research scientist, Lamin's research work is focused on the impact of the climate emergency on maritime transport with special focus on global shipping. His research work is affiliated to the World Maritime University and the Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute. He holds a MSc degree in Marine Technology with specialisation in Technical Operation of Marine Systems from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
