The presentation will outline the main hazards of lithium-ion batteries:
- Toxic gas/fumes
- Blow torch-like flames ≥ 1200°C
- Confined vapour cloud explosions
- Battery explosions
- Gas vents into passenger compartment and explodes
- Unconfined vapour cloud explosion
These will be illustrated through real-world examples and will also cover a critique of suppression techniques.
