The presentation will outline the main hazards of lithium-ion batteries:

• Toxic gas/fumes
• Blow torch-like flames ≥ 1200°C
• Confined vapour cloud explosions
• Battery explosions
• Gas vents into passenger compartment and explodes
• Unconfined vapour cloud explosion

These will be illustrated through real-world examples and will also cover a critique of suppression techniques.
