LECTURE: The Use of Human Error in the Shipping Industry: A Digression in Error?

A lecture from the Human Element Working Group.

This lecture looks at the background to the concept and use of human error in the shipping industry, covering current error trends, the background to human error as a concept and some thoughts on it's utility as a concept to shipping and contemporary alternatives.

About the Speaker

Will Tutton is a Specialist Human Factors Accident Investigator with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB). Will works regularly with academics on events and contributes to post-graduate teaching programmes at several leading UK universities. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIEHF and IMarEST and is co-Chair of the IMarEST'S Human Element Working Group.
