LECTURE: Saving Lives at Sea: the RNLI

A webinar from the East of England Branch.

This presentation covers the history of the RNLI, statistics of what they do and how saving lives at sea is delivered. The RNLI is a modern, high-tech organisation which is vertically integrated with it's own in-house design office, training, boat building and repair facility.

The RNLI relies entirely on voluntary donations to cover all operational costs and is world renowned for its performance. They have over 5,000 volunteer lifeboat crew members and 448 lifeboats and hovercraft in 238 lifeboat stations around the coast of the UK and Ireland.

This webinar contains video footage of RNLI operations which some members may find upsetting.
