Academia

IMarEST accreditation gives your higher-learning courses an internationally recognised certification, providing your students and professionals with the confidence to succeed in the maritime industry.

How we accredit institutions

Our accreditation involves a rigorous peer-review process, analysing the technical content taught and the processes in place to ensure effective delivery of the programme. Our trained panel of experts will work in partnership with you and, following a review of the programme materials and a panel visit, they will make a recommendation to our Professional Affairs & Education Committee, which is responsible for all accreditation decisions. Accreditation can be granted for a period up to five years.
