Being a Member demonstrates a high level of achievement within the marine sector and can provide you with professional recognition for your skills, knowledge and experience.
You will be eligible to apply for professional registration (such as becoming Chartered), and it shows that you are committed to the advancement of the industry, and your profession within it, by striving for excellence.
Eligibility
To become a Member you will need to have been professionally engaged in the marine sector for five years and occupy a role with significant responsibility.
As well as attaining a position of such experience in a marine engineering, marine science or marine technology occupation, you must demonstrate a level of commitment to your continuous professional development (CPD) that is satisfactory to the IMarEST Council.
You may also qualify for a professional qualification (registration) in an appropriate registration category, providing you have the appropriate qualifications, experiential learning and professional competence.
