SSN AUKUS Programme Director, Submarine Delivery Agency - MOD

With over 35 years of leadership experience in complex defence and maritime programmes, Annabelle has a deep understanding of the naval architecture profession, delivery of naval capabilities and warships to the Royal Navy and now the Royal Australian Navy. She is experienced in aspects of nuclear engineering, maritime, defence knowledge plus wider experience in RNLI, private sector and consulting.
As Programme Director for SSN AUKUS submarine programme, and previous roles, she has set and delivered long-term strategic objectives, translating high-level vision into nationally and globally important work. She has successfully scaled shipbuilding and support operations in Barrow, Devonport and Portsmouth, embedding new governance structures, financial controls, and innovative delivery models that have been independently recognised as exemplars of best practice.
Her approach is rooted in servant leadership, fostering innovation and continuous improvement. I have pioneered new ways of doing business which overcome significant resource shortages, shaping nimble organisations which can deliver with agility and strategic foresight. Also, establishing and operationalising international collaborations, demonstrates my capability to lead RINAs global engagement strategy and strengthen its influence across the sector, industry / industries.
