About the event:
In line with the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Act, Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd. (CMAL) are looking to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of their ferry fleet. CMAL have a number of projects ongoing with emissions reductions a key driver. The Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP) is looking to replace up to ten vessels, in two phases, across the fleet with a fully electric zero emission design which encompasses various routes on the network. As part of the HySeas III consortium supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 framework, CMAL working with AqualisBraemar LOC group has also achieved approval in principle from DNV for a hydrogen fuelled vessel design.
This presentation will give an overview of both projects as well as the key challenges faced in their development.
