About the event:
The Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC) began in 1980 in Bovisand as a registered charity run by volunteers. Initially, it provided a facility to treat divers with decompression illness (‘the bends’).
Moving into new premises at Plymouth Science Park in 1996, the scope for training and treatment of various conditions requiring Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment increased. In 2013 the name of the centre was changed to ‘DDRC Healthcare’.
Members and guests of RINA, IMarEST and NI are invited to apply for a talk and guided tour of the facilities offered by DDRC Healthcare in the Hyperbaric Medical Centre. Places for the tour are limited and subject to change if there is an emergency demanding staff attention
