Abstract:
The engineering skill sets found in the practices of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering have applications beyond typical marine projects. The multi-disciplined approach of these fields combined with their inherent understanding and appreciation of complex geometries, high-end finishes, dynamic loadings, and hazardous environments makes them prime candidates for some of the more rigorous design and engineering challenges.
The speaker will provide case studies where the applications of these fields have been pivotal in solving some very interesting and challenging local design and engineering problems. These case studies are not only on the water but also at the water’s edge, and even on land.
