Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I format my paper?

You can find an example of how you should format your paper here.

How many words should my paper be?

The maximum word count for technical papers is 4,000. This does not include the abstract or references page.

Do I need to include a biography?

Yes, you must include a biography for each of the lead authors on the front of your paper.

Where will my paper be published?

All IMarEST conference papers since 2017 are published open access on our Library. IMarEST members can login to the Libary using their website details to access older papers.

When will my paper be published?

We aim to publish papers one to two weeks in advance of the conference, but this is not guaranteed.

Why has my paper been rejected?

Papers are often rejected by our Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for incorrect formatting, or for being too long or too short. While papers can be rejected for other reasons, these are some of the most common.

If your paper is rejected, you will receive an explanation from the conference TAC explaining why.

I have a question about my paper
